FAQ
Do I need sewing or art experience?
Not at all. This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as experienced makers. If you enjoy craft, paper, or nostalgia, you’ll feel right at home.
What will I make?
You’ll create a tiny 1950s or Deco‑inspired paper dress using vintage sewing patterns, and frame it as a keepsake to take home.
What’s included?
All tools and materials are provided — frame, pattern paper, backing board, adhesives, and everything you’ll need on the day.
Can I bring my own sewing patterns?
Yes, absolutely. If you have old or sentimental patterns, feel free to bring them along. They make the final piece even more personal.
How long is the workshop?
Three hours. This gives you plenty of time to learn the techniques, experiment, and finish your framed dress without rushing.
What age is this workshop suitable for?
Adults and older teens (15+) are welcome. The folding and shaping techniques require some fine motor skills.
What should I bring?
Just yourself — and any sewing patterns you’d like to use. Everything else is supplied.
Is the venue accessible?
Mary Lindsay Homestead is generally accessible, but if you have specific access needs, please contact the venue so they can assist.
Can I book multiple tickets?
Yes, you can register for yourself and friends through the Eventbrite link.
